MAX8770GTL+T is a dual-phase, quickPWM controller for IMVP-6+ CPU core power supply. It is 2/1-phase interleaved Quick-PWM™ step-down VID power-supply controller for notebook CPUs. True out-of-phase operation reduces input ripple current requirements and output voltage ripple while easing component selection and layout difficulties. The Quick-PWM control provides an instantaneous response to fast load current steps. Active voltage positioning reduces power dissipation and bulk output capacitance requirements and allows ideal positioning compensation for tantalum, polymer, or ceramic bulk output capacitors. Application includes IMVP-6+ core supply, multiphase CPU core supply, voltage-positioned, step down converters, notebook/desktop computers, and blade servers.

- Transient phase overlap reduces output capacitance, output OV protection

- Programmable 200KHz to 600KHz switching frequency
- Accurate current balance and current limit, adjustable slew-rate control
- Power-good, clock enable active low, power monitor and thermal fault active low outputs
- Drives large synchronous rectifier MOSFETs, UV and thermal-fault protection
- 40 thin QFN package, temperature range from -40°C to +105°C
